Free resources and advice for new mums experiencing anxiety

Calm, focus and find your confidence.

Welcome to Maternal Balance

A safe, non-judgemental space full of free resources, stories and advice for new mums and pregnant women struggling with anxiety. Often known as antenatal or postnatal anxiety.

Almost all of us will experience some form of anxiety during our perinatal – that time immediately before or after giving birth.

Yet for some reason, going through pregnancy and giving birth seems to be the precursor to more and more of us experiencing anxiety longer term – whether it’s a few months of worries or full blown daily panic attacks.

Maternal Balance is here to help you calm, focus and find your confidence.

We hope it gives you a chance to understand a little more about what you’re experiencing and what you can do to help yourself. And enjoy more freely these precious moments with your child to their fullest.

You’re not the only one…

In fact most new mums and dads experience some form of anxiety. Most of us haven’t got a clue what we’re doing. Our hormones are all over the place. We’re tired, stressed and our emotions are running wild. You’d be crazy not to worry!

When it’s no longer ‘normal’

For some of us those feelings don’t go away. And continue past what we might consider to be a ‘normal’ amount of time. But what is a normal amount of time? We just think it’s best to get the help you need as soon as possible.

How can Maternal Balance help me?

We’re no substitute for going to see your GP or a specialist psychotherapist, we would always recommend you do this anyway. But we do believe there are some simple measures and lifestyle choices you can make now to try and alleviate some of your symptoms. Plus it’s just nice to know you’re not the only one suffering.
